Data and AI Literacy for Tomorrow’s Media Workforce

A diverse global media and publishing company saw the opportunity to upskill its teams rapidly in generative AI and prompt engineering, looking to empower growth and innovation. The company planned a series of training programs tailored to staff in more than a dozen different divisions across the enterprise, enlisting Data Society’s expertise in instructional design and training delivery to support the development and implementation of the program on an accelerated timeline. These initiatives culminated in the successful deployment of virtual, instructor-led training to thousands of staff and the establishment of a thriving partnership for ongoing training efforts.

A leading media, entertainment, and communications company wanted to leverage its abundant data resources more effectively. Data Society partnered with the company to develop and deliver an annual 36-week training academy that provided learners with formal training, workshops, office hours, and an opportunity for applied learning through capstone projects based directly on real business use cases and data. A government communications agency charged with providing reliable internet service to rural communities faced the challenge of reducing errors that led to resource waste and inefficiencies. The agency sought training to help its research team identify broadband access coverage gaps with greater accuracy. Data Society delivered an intensive three-week training program that equipped agency researchers with the skills in deep learning and AI to improve a tool for estimating distances between addresses and towers. As a result, the agency can more effectively and accurately analyze data and satellite imagery to improve services.
