Dmitri is a former J.P. Morgan investment banker and hedge fund analyst who used data to improve investment outcomes. Dmitri is passionate about democratizing data science methods and bringing the tools of data driven decision-making to people who want to improve the quality of their decisions, careers, and lives.
Merav has over a decade of experience in the education field, from classroom teaching to instructional design and building online learning platforms. Through Data Society, she has helped companies save millions of dollars with their pedagogically-sound and effective data science training programs. Merav is passionate about automating tedious tasks and providing the data science skills that professionals need to solve their most challenging problems.
John received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from Georgetown Law, where he was an Equal Justice Fellow. A veteran of defense counseling, complex antitrust litigation, and global corporate compliance, John is passionate about helping individuals and companies glean insights from the information at their fingertips.
Nisha has years of professional experience in the data science field and has led data science teams at Booz Allen Hamilton and at Discovery Communications. She has built algorithms for marketing purposes and has shaped data-driven decision making across companies. She is passionate about spreading data literacy across industries.
Matt has nearly a decade of experience consulting for Deloitte and other firms for both commercial and federal clients in healthcare, Insurance and financial services. Matt has managed numerous analytics and regulatory compliance engagements across those industries.
Katya is a former journalist with background in applied linguistics and a degree in Computational Sciences. Katya is passionate about using data, math, and programming languages to mine and discover new insights from natural languages.
Candice is a former secondary educator and instructional coach who specializes in creating meaningful learning experiences. Candice transitioned into instructional design after completing her Masters in Workplace Learning and Performance Improvement from Boise State University. Candice is passionate about designing and developing training solutions that are engaging, relevant to the workplace, and that close performance gaps.
Alison Peebles Madigan
Alison has over 10 years experience in instructional design and curriculum development. She specializes in making complex topics accessible to diverse audiences. She’s been an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where she also received her BS in statistics, a minor in drama, and her M.S. in public policy and analytics. With years of consulting experience and a veteran of IBM, Alison is passionate about black-box solutions becoming a thing of the past.
Saghal has years of professional experience in the social media and communications fields. She has managed social media platforms at companies such as Rent The Runway, and Emotive Architecture. She has a passion for community service and improving collaborations. Saghal is excited to bring her skills to the Data Society team.
Dr. Kaska Adoteye
Kaska Adoteye has a PhD in Applied Mathematics from NC State University. He has previously built models for stock trading, and is developing an artificial intelligence engine to help secure cyber networks. He is passionate about using math and statistics to solve real world problems with a maximum impact.
Dr. Amanda Traud
Amanda earned her Masters in Applied Mathematics from UNC – Chapel Hill, and her PhD in Biomathematics from North Carolina State University. Her expertise is in network science/statistical analytics to explore and analyze netflow data, geographical data, and social media data. She is passionate about increasing the number of women in data science.
Dr. Keegan Hines
Keegan received his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Texas – Austin. He is a cybersecurity data scientist who uses large-scale machine learning applications in cyber defense. He is passionate about solving challenging problems in machine learning and distributed computing, as well as creating more effective methods for data visualization.
Dr. Harlan D. Harris
Harlan is the Director of Data Science at the Education Advisory Board, and the co-founder of the Data Science DC Meetup and Data Community DC, Inc. Dr. Harris has many years in the data science industry and co-authored “Analyzing the Analyzers” through O’Reilly Media.
Rich is the Chief Data Scientist at Cybraics, Inc. He is part of the adjunct Faculty at University of Maryland, Baltimore County and an Instructor of Human Terrain Analysis at George Mason University. Rich serves on the Selection Committee for the AAAS Big Data & Analytics Fellowships Program. He has deep expertise running data science teams and is the co-author of “Social Media Mining with R.”
Rex "ggPlop" Iyer
Rex is a giant fluff and a big part of Data Society. He has a wide range of skills from sitting, laying down, and sitting pretty. He is the great data retriever of the company, excellent at fetch commands!
