A government communications agency charged with providing reliable internet service to rural communities faced the challenge of reducing errors that led to resource waste and inefficiencies. The agency sought training to help its research team identify broadband access coverage gaps with greater accuracy. Data Society delivered an intensive three-week training program that equipped agency researchers with the skills in deep learning and AI to improve a tool for estimating distances between addresses and towers. As a result, the agency can more effectively and accurately analyze data and satellite imagery to improve services.
